Friars Primary School Governors

The governors are responsible for the overall running of the school, working in close collaboration with the headteacher and staff to ensure the school fulfills it aims. The full Governing Body meets at least once a term. Governors understand the importance of their role. As such they adhere to an agreed code of conduct. There are two main committees that deal with specific work of the school (Achievement and Resources) and they meet termly. There is also a committee that meets annually to decide on the pay progression of teachers. Please click on the links below to view the committees’ terms of reference.

The Leadership report to the governing body regularly and governors visit the school to monitor their link areas including the curriculum, Early Years, finance, safeguarding and Inclusion.
